Many of you may not know, but I graduated from Interior Decorating with honours, approximately 25 years ago. It was a tough start back then, and after several years with fabricland and Lizanne's Fabrics and also Glidden Paints, my career went another direction. Over the past 12 years I have been getting back on track and am now working solely on painting houses and painting custom art work. And I'm loving it! My background in decorating comes in handy, as I help customers choose the colour & size of their art pieces and also help them hang them! I also help choose wall colour and give advise on other decorating schemes. I found this great article on Houzz, take a read...

The Canada Day Parade was so much fun! A great beginning to a busy summer. In July we got together on Wednesday mornings for kids arts and crafts and in August we had a full week of art camp. With a different theme everyday, we painted pictures, glued crafts together, did fish imprints (with a real fish!) , made all sorts of creative things! Kids ranged from 4 years old to 13 years old and we couldn't have done it all without our volunteers, Hailey, Layla and Brielle. I am so looking forward to a new season, to see old friends come through the door again, to meet new students and create new amazing pieces of art!

I was so happy to be a part of the community this past few weeks. On June 22, I displayed my art at the Lynden Horticultural Society's Garden Tour Cafe. And on July 1st representatives from Random Acts of Art walked in Lynden's Canada Day parade! Thank you to everyone who participated! I also want to thank everyone who volunteers at the studio, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be able to accomplish all that I am. Volunteers help with children art classes, paint t-shirts, made flags for the parade and give me their moral support and friendship...
